Kate Arendt is founder and president of Genesis Consulting & Coaching, which specializes in organizational and leadership development, training, and business and personal coaching. Kate has 12 years experience consulting and over 15 years training in the high-tech and healthcare industries. She’s been coaching informally as part of her role as a consultant for a decade and received her coaching credentials in 2000. Her extensive consulting and coaching experience includes strategic planning, cultural change, team building, and leadership development.

Kate’s coaching practice includes executives and professionals reevaluating their goals or careers.
Kate is Co-President of East Bay Coaches, a local chapter of the International Coach Federation.

Her strengths include seeing possibilities, helping overcome obstacles, facilitating sustainable change and adding humor. Her approach to change is to look at the structural elements in play that drive behavior – for sustainable change is only possible if the underlying structure is designed to support it. Her training and facilitation expertise also includes developing and delivering workshops to increase leadership capability, reduce conflict, build cohesive teams, increase accountability, and help employees modify their behaviors to be more successful in achieving personal and corporate goals.

Her approach to team building is to build awareness and acknowledgement of ineffective behaviors, increase accountability, commitment and capability of team members. Customized workshops have included: An 8-week Leadership Development Series, Building Trust & Accountability, Improving Interpersonal Relationships, Goal Management, Group Decision-Making, Conflict Resolution, Group Problem Solving and Process Improvement, Communications, Meeting Effectiveness, Time Management, and Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator™ to Improve Team Performance. Kate also conducts Project Management training and Change Management consulting as a professional affiliate with IPS Associates.
